The Bearking Athena III is a third-generation ultralight spinning reel, designed for precision-focused fishing techniques like UL (ultralight), extra-ultralight, and nano spinning.It has a very low weight thanks to its carbon-fiber body combined with an aluminum alloy spool.The reel runs smoothly on 6 1 sealed stainless-steel ball bearings, and features digitally milled gears for reliable performance.There are two size variants: 800S and 1500S, both built on a standard 1000–1500 reel frame but differ in spool capacity and weight.The 800S weighs ~142 g, while the 1500S is around 144 g.The gear ratio is 5.2:1 for the 800S and approximately 5.4:1 for the 1500S.The reel’s design makes it suitable for very fine braided lines, and it’s built to handle both freshwater and saltwater environments.
